If you are a parent, grandparent,
aunt or uncle, odds are you have already “educated”
someone at home. Education is simply a transfer of knowledge or
skills, such as teaching a toddler to tie his shoes, or training
a granddaughter to crochet a blanket. There are many different levels
of educating at home, from teaching life skills, to handing down
crafting skills, to supplementing public or private education, to
full-fledged home education.
It is my hope that you’ll find something helpful here no
matter what level of home educating takes place in your house. Check
out my “Creativity” page for craft projects, good recipes,
or unique ideas for teaching basic life skills. The “Organization”
page talks specifically about integrating home education into your
life, and even includes some tips for conquering clutter and planning
menus! My “Resources” page is a “primer”
of sorts for those considering homeschooling.
If you’re a Sonlight Curriculum user, as I am, you’ll
find some great ideas for making this literature-based program work
for *your* family. Browse my Sonlight page, and then jump through to the Sonlight website for more details on literature-based learning.
Peek in at my photo gallery. It is full of my favorite things
in life. I hope you’ll enjoy sharing some of them with me.

About Me
I’m a perpetual student, enjoying learning something new
whenever I can fit it in! I suppose it only makes sense for someone
who has a thirst for knowledge to want to integrate a learning environment
into her home. My husband and I share a desire to learn, so it was
only natural for us to want to pass that love on to our children.
Although our love for learning is certainly no guarantee that our
kids will crave education, we are committed, veteran homeschoolers
who desire to make life a learning process. Personally, I enjoy
being wife to my best friend and mom to the greatest kids in the
world. Homeschooling is a central part of our lives, with both good
and bad days. I also fit in part-time work for a homeschool curriculum
publisher. In my “spare” time my *hobbies* include flower
and vegetable gardening, sewing and crocheting, and many other handcrafts
that I’ve tried to learn. As a family we enjoy hiking and
are always looking for someplace new to investigate.
