Organizing Your Life and Homeschool Article

"Do you remember those old TV variety shows where acrobats kept dozens of plates spinning on poles, running to and from to keep any from crashing to the ground?  Are there times that you feel like those plate-spinners, juggling family, home, career, marriage, (homeschooling), and still trying to spin that last plate, called quiet time with God?  Or have the words quiet and time been deleted from your vocabulary?"  (excerpted from Focus on the Family)

School Day Planner

Whether you’re new to homeschooling and asking the question “How much do I cover in a school day?” … or a veteran who is stuck in a rut and needing to get back to basics … here’s a basic planner to help you make sure you cover all the bases.

Weekly Lesson Planners

If writing lesson plans helps you to better organize your school materials, here are a couple of planning pages for reproduction.

Monthly Planner

Planning ahead is one key to good organization.  Here you’ll find a blank two-month planner.  Reproduce it to create your own day planner or a specific school planner.

Conquering Clutter

When all your attention is focused on homeschooling, what happens to house cleaning?!  Here’s a basic 8-step plan for conquering clutter in your home.

Menu Planning

You mean I still have to cook meals for this family after a full day of teaching?  With a very basic menu planner and a simple plan, you can take the frustration out of last minute meal preparation.

Assign a main entrée to each day of the week (i.e. Monday = chicken, Tuesday = pasta, Wednesday = soup, Thursday = beef, Friday = pizza).  At the beginning of each week pull your favorite recipes to match each day’s main entrée and record it on your menu planner.  Plan your grocery shopping based on your week’s worth of menus.  Eliminate the frustration of “what should I fix?” by having your menu already planned a week at a time!
